Urban Art #6: The Entrance Gardens Then & Now Multi-Cache

This is my 6th cache highlighting Pittsburgh's excellent urban art.  This one takes you back in time to see what Pittsburgh looked like long ago and then on to the beautiful Highland Park Entrance Gardens.  So let's get to it.  Do you know those pictures in children's magazines where you have 2 nearly identical pictures and you have to find the differences?  That's what we're going to do.  

The posted coordinates bring you to a mural displaying the beautiful Highland Park Entrance Gardens as they were in the distant past..  No container here, but we're going to play the spotting the differences game.  Your job is to find out what's different in the Entrance Gardens as they were long ago and the Entrance Gardens now.   For purposes of this puzzle, the questions about the modern day Entrance Gardens refer to the area immediately surrounding the fountain and between the reservoir and the entrance to Highland Park.   The questions about the Entrance Gardens long ago include the entire mural.

To find out the final coordinates, you will need to visit both the mural and the Entrance Gardens and do the following comparisons:

A.  Number of benches currently in the Entrance Gardens area + number of benches in the Entrance Gardens long ago + 2.
B. The number of people doing handstands at the Gardens long ago + the number of people doing handstands when you arrive at the Gardens. Multiply this number by 0 and add 9.
C.  Number of live animals shown in the mural + number of live animals in the Entrance Gardens when you are there. Multiply this number by 0 and add 1.
D.  Number of people holding umbrellas in the mural + number of people holding umbrellas in the Entrance Gardens when you are there. Multiply this number by 0.
E.  Looking from the fountain towards the entrance to the park, the number of large stone pillars at the park entrance long ago + the number of large stone pillars at the entrance of modern day Highland Park + 1.
G. Is the shape of the sidewalks surrounding the fountain 6) changed from long ago or 9) the same as depicted in the mural?

After you have answered the above questions, use the numbers to learn the location of the fake rock which contains the log:

This one's been percolating in my brain for 5 years now and it finally came together. I've always loved the beauty of the old city parks, and the Highland Park Entrance Gardens is one of the more impressive spots out of all 4 of the old city parks.  Have fun and enjoy the beauty of these historic gardens!
