Geocache Description:

A GEO Meet & Eat Workshop on July 12. Supper before this event will be held at the FINCH PIZZERIA at the reference coordinates from 5:45 PM to 6:50 PM.

The workshop begins at 7:00 PM at SNC (Posted coordinates) and goes until we reach a natural breaking point, usually a little after 9:00 PM. NOTE THE SLIGHT, PERMANENT ADJUSTMENT IN START TIME.

A guest speaker, Cody Glive, will be coming. Cody was exploring the Long Sault parkway in the past, and was bitten by a tick and contracted Lyme Disease. We, as geocachers, are aware of pesky plants and insects that drive us a little crazy in the woods, and can cause some discomfort in the days that follow, but ticks are different: Lyme disease, if not prevented, will change your life. It is perhaps the most dangerous part of geocaching in our area.

Cody will be speaking on his experience and life with Lyme disease.

Cody is also a member of the "Ken Carter preservation society"- a small group focused on an unusual historical chapter in Eastern Ontario; a stuntman's dream and determination to jump a car over the St. Lawrence River. See this archived cache The Devil At Your Heels for the location of the jump. I highly recommend the documentary link in that description.

Cody will also be speaking a little on what the Ken Carter preservation society has been involved with, and what they hope to accomplish in the future.

In the second half of the workshop we will do group puzzle solving: Please post the name and GC number of a puzzle you would like to suggest we discuss, and we will try to discuss them in that order- if we run out then we can take suggestions.
