Geocache Description:

Welcome to the St Leonards Lake Reserve Trail.  This is an easy walk around the Lake and Wetland of beautiful St Leonards. There is abundant bird life to see in a natural setting not far from the Foreshore of Port Philip Bay.

The track is very popular with locals and visitors alike, dog walkers and bike riders.  The trail is just over 2km around and is family friendly.

On the way to this next cache, you will have passed an optional ‘detour’- a track that takes you behind the bowling club, past the playground, tennis courts and popular bocce field, along the wetland that floods seasonally.  High waters attract wading birds such as the Royal Spoonbill, herons and egrets.

Here is roughly the half way point, and the track meets up with Murradoc Road- the main thoroughfare to town.  Watch out for the geese!  The local (although not always followed!) rule is to give way to geese!

You are looking for a bison- bring your own writing stick.
