Hello, my name is Ssid Mystery Cache

This cache is a multi-part mystery and combines a pet-peeve of mine and is also my second in what I intend to make a series of techie caches.    The 1st being Electronic Mail

Stage 1:
Determine the correct spelling for the following mis-spelled word: GHOTI.  The letters of the correctly spelled word can be represented by the letters ABCD (yes, its a four-letter word). The next stage, explained below can be represented as:

A1 for example would be A's digit 1

S25 (4) (B1 - A1).(B1 - A1)(B1)(B1 - C1 - C1)

E28 (0) (B1) .(B1 - D1)(B1)(B1 - D1 - 1)

(A=1, B=2,...)
