This is the fifth in my Cook Strait Lookout series. Houghton Bay Road is not as close to Cook Strait as the other caches in the series, but the view is still worth looking at, especially on a fine day!
The cache is on the edge of Sinclair Park and Play Area. It is not necessary to venture down the bank.
Houghton Bay Road can be quite busy. If driving here, it's best to park in the designated off-road parking. It is also accessible by Metlink No 23 bus to Houghton Bay or 29 to Southgate.
