褶曲とは?/What is the fold?

褶曲(しゅうきょく)とは地層の側方から大きな力が掛かった際に、地層が曲がりくねるように変形する現象のことです。
A geological fold occurs when one or a stack of originally flat and planar surfaces, such as sedimentary strata, are bent or curved as a result of permanent deformation.

褶曲の形成/formation of the fold

地震の力によって短時間で形成される場合もありますが、多くはプレートの移動などで長時間強い力を受け続けることで形成されます。
2方向からの圧縮の力と、隆起や沈降の力などがかかって形成されます。比較的固い岩盤の場合は、褶曲が形成される途中で破断して断層となることが多いとされています。
また、褶曲は2方向から圧縮されて形成されるため、力の方向に対して垂直方向に形成される事が多いとされています。

褶曲の種類/kind of the fold

力のかかり方によって褶曲は様々な形態を示します。
  • 正褶曲:褶曲軸面が鉛直に近い褶曲
  • 斜究極:褶曲軸面が傾斜した褶曲
  • 等斜褶曲:褶曲面が平行の褶曲
  • 過褶曲:地層が圧縮されて大きく折れ曲り、両翼が同方向の斜めに倒れた褶曲
  • 横臥褶曲:褶曲作用が極度に進み軸面が横倒しになりほとんど水平に近づいたもの
  • 山形褶曲:軸厚一定、相圧もヒンジ部を除いて一定。軸部の曲率が極めて大きく、かつ翼部が平面をなすジグザグ状の褶曲。シェブロン褶曲とも呼ばれる

途中、大井川沿いに出る必要がありますが、雨の後などは大井川の水量がとても増えます。雨の日もしくは雨が上がった後でも大雨あがりの場合は訪問はおやめください。
また、時折上流にあるダムで放水が行われ急に水かさが増えることもあります。サイレンが聞こえたらすぐに退避してください。

電車で来る場合は神尾駅に。車で来る場合でもまずは神尾駅まで来たほうが案内看板があり行き先がわかりやすいです。
途中で大井川沿いの砂利道に入る(N 34° 53.100 E 138° 06.500 の辺り)必要があるので道を間違えないようご注意ください

You need to enter the gravel road along the Oi River on the way. (Around N 34 ° 53.100 E 138 ° 06.500) Please note that you do not mistake the road
