Geocache Description:

Grants Creek named because of the early grants of land located along the creek. It is also generally considered the dividing line between German and Scotch-Irish Settlements in Rowan County. One more tidbit of history about this creek, on April 12, 1865, Major General George Stoneman lead his union troops along this creek to destroy Confederate supplies and supply lines in Salisbury, NC known as "Stoneman's Raid"

This cache is a quick park and grab if you know what your looking for. Grant's Creek flows through the heart of Rowan County. Originating near Landis, NC , the Creek bisects China Grove, Salisbury, and Spencer before emptying into High Rock Lake. .
