Babbling in Bannockburn Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Mildly easy park and grab. Terrain is uneven and on a grade with some brush to contend with. Cache is located just downstream of Bannockburn's Moira River rapids on a portion of old road allowance. If you have the time and weather/conditions are permitting, check out the rapids a bit further up stream! (see reference point)
Located in Bannockburn's near the local Moira River rapids just alongside highway 62. there is plenty of places to cool down and enjoy the rapids during the summer, while in the spring, an impressive amount of water transforms the entire area into a much more treacherous but impressive set of falls. Site is at a former road allowance that once was home of a bridge that spanned the Moira River over a century ago. If you explore the river banks and look carefully, signs of the old footing and mooring points can still be found. Please don't disturb or harm the local wildlife! First to Find logged by bent-penny. Hurray!
