Geocache Description:

秩父神社は武蔵国が成立する以前よりこの知知夫国の総鎮守として祀られる神社です。
12月3日に行われる秩父夜祭はこの秩父神社の例祭で、毎年多くの観光客が見物に集まります。

神社自体は約2000年の歴史があるといわれており、1592年に徳川家康が再建た建物の四方に施された彫刻は心を奪われる美しさです。
その彫刻は日光東照宮の三猿や眠り猫で有名な左甚五郎の作品で、「子宝・子育ての虎」や「つなぎの龍」「お元気三猿」「子宝・子育ての虎」「瓢箪から駒」といった作品が並んでいます。

また、秩父市の1番の名物とも言える秩父神社の例大祭「秩父夜祭」は、京都祇園祭、飛騨高山祭と共に日本三大曳山祭の1つに数えられており、その歴史は300年余りとなります。

キャッシュは参道の前に隠しました。 タイミングによっては人の多い状態になりますので慎重に捜索してください。 マイクロサイズのためペンをお持ちください。

There is history in 2000 in this shrine. A beautiful sculpture is given to a building. Chichibu yomatsuri(night festival) on Dec. is one of 3 big float Festival in Japan.
