Ernest Hemingway was an American novelist, short story writer, and journalist. He also won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954. He published seven novels, six short story collections, and two non-fiction works. Additional works, including three novels, four short story collections, and three non-fiction works, were published posthumously. Many of his works are considered classics of American literature. Besides this he also drove a ambulance on the Italian front during World War I where he was wounded. He was a journalist in Spain during the Spanish Civil War. He was present at the Normandy landings and the liberation of Paris during World War II. He lived through a couple of plane crashes. He went on safari in Africa. he lived in pre-revolutionary Cuba for a time, as well as Key West, Florida. He was a big game hunter and a sport fisherman. So I guess to sum all of this up besides being a great writer, he was a adventurer. If there had been geocaching in his day he would have probably been a geocacher too! Geocachers are adventurers!
