Attica Roadside Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

TeamWetfeet: The property was sold and a house is being built here. It's time to retire this cache. I picked up the container. I compared the log with the online list, there's extra names on the paper so if you online log and haven't, chop chop, lol! Thanks for visiting!

Geocache Description:

CACHE: Park and grab. No need to go around guard rail. Stay streetside.

HISTORY: A stop on the old M-21 highway. One of only a few that existed in Lapeer County. A freshwater stream ran through here and a well was built so travelers could get a cold drink while on the road. When I-69 was completed, M-21 was sold (given) by the state to Lapeer County and this roadside park was closed. The state sold the park to a private owner, and all that has changed was the removal of the park benches and the well. There used to be a dedication marker here. My father had the sign for many years, he found it on the ground left to rot. We never did find the family of the person it was dedicated to and since then the sign has come up missing.
