Geocache Description:


CACHE: Room for smalls.

HISTORY: This cemetery was originally known as the DeGroat Cemetery after a property owner, and then the Lum Cemetery and finally Arcadia Township Cemetery. Many still call it Lum. It was not the first one used for settlers of the area, in the beginning they were buried on the Mitchell farm on the south side of Mitchell Lake, Mitchell Lake Road. This cemetery was established in the late 1870's when Lum started to grow. That's when the burials near the lake were moved here. Lum Cemetery is still in use.
