Geocache Description:

It has come to my attention that duck hunting takes place near this location. Please exercise caution during searches in September, October, and November. (Blaze ORANGE would be wise)
While on my way to find a cache at another bridge nearby (Code Road Bridge) , I came across the Stafford Third Line Bridge which divides a beautiful wetland.

The bridge was rebuilt in 2005 and falls under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation of the County of Renfrew.

This wetland stream weaves through some farmland and is rich in vegetation and wildlife. There were several species of birds, both water and passerine, which made for a wonderful chorus, courtesy of Mother Nature. Even though I didn't see any turtles, there was plenty of evidence of turtles having nested along the side of the roads. The soft gravel was highlighted with the remnants of the distinctive white shells. This wetland is part of a conservation area run by the Province of Ontario, so there's no fear of hunting in the area. The roads in this area are close enough to the main Highway (Hwy 17) that you will get that feeling of being in the countryside but at the same time, not being too remote. A great Sunday drive or anyday of the week for a geocacher!
