HR :Crkva Sv. Prota mučenika
Pripada manjim jednobrodnim ranogotičkim poljskim zdanjima. Na oltarnoj slici uz njenog titulara bili su prikazani brojni sveci (među njima i rovinjski zaštitnik Sv. Juraj i Sv. Eufemija). Napuštena krajem 18.st., propala je tijekom slijedećih decenija. Sv. Prot bio je mučenik iz 3.st. te često biva obožavan zajedno sa njegovim bratom sv. Jacintom. Prema legendi oboje bili su eunusi i robovi rimske plemkinje Eugenije, čiji zaručnik ih je mučio, jer su navodno preobratili Eugeniju. Prot, čije je glavni simbol palma, prikazuje se s bradom a Jacint s obrijanom bradom.
ENG: Curch of St. Protus the martyr
It belongs to a group of smaller one-nave Early-Gothic field churches. Along with its titular, the altar painting presented numerous other saints (among which also St. George and St. Euphemia, the patron saints of Rovinj). It was abandoned at the end of the 18th century and deteriorated durung the following serval decades. St. Protus was the martyr from the 3rd century often worshipped together with his brother St. Hyacinth. The legend says that the brothers were eunuch and slaves of a Roman noblewoman called Eugenia whose fiance had them tortured because they had allegedy converted her. Protus, whose main symbol is the palm, is presentes wearing a beard, whereas Hyacinth is presented beardless.
GER: Kirche des hl. Erzmärtyers
Zählt zu den kleinen einchiffigen frühgotischen Feldbauwerken. Auf den Altarbild sind ausser den Totular noch zahlreiche Heilige abgebildet (unter ihnen auch die Rovinjer Schutzpatronen, der hl. Georg und die hl. Euphemia). Sie wurde Ende des 18. Jh. verlassen und verfiel im Laufe der folgenden Jahrzente. Hl. Protus ist ein Märtyrer aus den 3. Jh. und wird häufig gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder, dem hl. Hyazinth, gefeiert. Wie uns die Legende berichtet waren beide Eunuchen und Sklaven der römischen Adeligen Eugenia, deren Verlobter sie foltern ließ, weil sie Eugenia angeblich bekehrt hatten. Protus, dessen Hsuptsymbol ein Palmwedel ist, wird mit Bart, wehrend Hyazinth bartlos abgebildet wird.
