Geocache Description:

Australian slang is full of some very interesting expressions which foreigners, especially those for whom English is a second language, have trouble understanding.

To ‘go off like a frog in a sock’ is just one of many.

Why would you put a frog in a sock? It isn’t a very good means of catching them or transporting them! And why would a frog in a sock go off? Would you leave it there until it started to smell because it couldn’t have a bath?

No, to go off like a frog in a sock is to get very excited, go crazy, or in the right context to get very angry. As any self-respecting amphibian in the order anura would get if it were placed in an item of clothing usually reserved for feet!

This place might be a good location to find frogs, both in and out of socks. The cache is a 600 ml container placed so the geokids shouldn’t have any trouble spotting it, but a person with longer arms will be needed to reach it.

In keeping with the animal nature of this cache, animal themed swaps would be great if possible. I’ve left some for the first few to find. Although there is a pencil, as always it’s recommended you BYOP!
