Geocache Description:

For years I have driven past, and seen many changes to this area.

Now the fences have been taken down, the area has had some landscaping and planting, and with the Park re-opening it is now called: Te Kotuitanga meaning "the dovetailing" (The area was informally known as Tiverton Reserve).

For five decades it was the site of a market garden and plant nursery owned by Nam Lowe.

Recently it had been the storage/work area for the vehicles and materials used in the widening of Tiverton and Wolverton Roads.

Because of the Waterview Tunnel, the suburb of New Windsor now has a new local park to call its own.

So what makes this park special?

  • A shelter with tables for picnicking
  • Quiet space for Tai-Chi and raised stones for reflexology
  • Views of the Waitakere Ranges
  • Space to ‘kick-a-ball’
  • Plantings of native plants, fruit trees and wildflowers
  • A shared concrete walkway around the reserve, which can be used as a learn-to-ride track
  • Swings and tree stumps for climbing/balance
  • and now a Geocache!
This is a very exposed hide, stealth will be required to retrieve.
