Geocache Description:

Continuing with the WWII Bunkers… Of the old bunkers that have been tucked away in this area for the last 65+ years this one is in remarkable condition.  It’s so close to the access road that it could actually be put back in service in a moment.  Most people walk right by it because it is so well camouflaged with 10 to 12 foot sword grass in front of it. Yet, it’s right next to the road! But don’t get in too much of a huff… if you pay attention you can see a trail through the grass – and really if you focus you can see the bunker from the road.

As usual – be careful and walk slowly through the swordgrass path.  Gloves will make it a piece of cake.

I’ve put this at difficulty 2.0  To some it may be a real challenge.  I call the camoed container a micro L&L. It’s covered, and it’s inside on the left. There are a few pieces of rubble here. Your challenge is to find which piece of rubble it’s behind.

There are five old quanset hut bunkers in this area.  They are really quite an historic thing to see.  Along this access roadway are nice scenic overlooks, and an access to numerous hiking trails and waterfalls.  Yet in the midst are these memories from a bygone era.

It’s time for some adventure… Happy Caching.
