Louisburg Cemetery has been in use over 100 years and holds a rich history. Many military veterans rest here from all Wars dating back to the Civil War. How times have changed over the years, headstones used to be single marble slabs, which deteriorated over time, losing it’s names, dates and history. As generations past from one family to the next, our past ancestors are forgotten and grave sites lost to eternity. Now many headstones are art formations, formed in brilliant color and design, like the Gilmore’s located near Ground Zero.
Be sure to look around this interesting cemetery and visit the large unique variations of headstones and history. Please be respectful to all residents and visitors alike. There is no night caching please. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings and pay respect to all.
