Placed by the 18th St Albans Tyler Scout Troop as part of our Geocaching activity. Tyler Scouts, part of the 18th St Albans group are based near the Wick and use the area for a number of our outdoor activities. The cache is a 1.4l clip-lock box, space enough for a few trackables and some treasure. Cache has been placed by kind permission of St Albans District Council.
The Wick was designated a Local Nature Reserve (LNR) in 1995 and managed by St Albans District Council. It is a popular area with familes and dog walkers. A number of cache's previously placed in the Wick have been 'muggled', so please place this back carefully. August 2019: Please note this cache was disabled for a while as it had been destroyed. I have recreated it however since then the paths in the Wick have been formalised and some of the smaller paths have been closed for access. This cache is about 5m from the marked path; it's location remains acceptable to the 'Friends of the Wick' - the local group that manage the environment, however please take care when leaving the path to ensure nothing is disturbed and you are discrete. Please leave a favourite point if you enjoyed this cache!
