Geocache Description:

You talking to me? I make him an offer he don't refuse. Never rat on your friends and always keep your mouth shut. I grew up in a tough neighborhood, and we used to say, you can get further with a kind word and a gun than you can with just a kind word. I have nipples Greg, could you milk me?

Welcome to the New York Public Library system! This cache has limited hours of availability, which are listed below on the cache page.

Did you know that every branch of the New York Public Library offers free Wi-Fi? That's great news for all geocachers visiting from out of town!

In 2017 I was notified by the New York City Geocaching Community that the NYPL Series of caches had won the award for Best Series in NYC that year!! Thank you to everyone who has visited to this point as your logs are a big reason why this has happened!

Few actors have the history and connection with New York City like Robert De Niro. Born in Greenwich Village, home to this cache, the list of films that De Niro has appeared in, that were either shot in NYC or based here is truly remarkable. Among the most well-known are Mean Streets, The Godfather II, Taxi Driver, The King of Comedy, Goodfellas, Midnight Run, A Bronx Tale and Analyze This. Additionally, De Niro is one of the founders of the Tribeca Film Festival, which has been held annually in lower Manhattan since 2002 and draws about 3 million people each year.

This edition of the NYPL series brings you to a place where Robert De Niro shot a scene from one of his greatest movies, Raging Bull.  The waypoint coordinates listed on the cache page are for the Carmine Street Pool which is the location for one of the most pivotal scenes in the movie. It is the place where Jake La Motta speaks to Vickie (his future wife) for the first time. This location is now also home to the Carmine Street Mural, which was executed by Keith Haring in 1987.

PART 1: To find this cache, you will first need to locate the geocacher's favorite mascot at the posted coordinates. Here you will need to use your TOTT to get further instructions.
