Winnekenni Castle, Whittier Birthplace and Tattersall Farm include extensive trail systems. Buttonwoods Museum / Haverhill Historical Society is a small dynamic organization with a historic site overlooking the Merrimack River. The museum tells the story of life in the Merrimack Valley from Native American settlements through today. The Haverhill Fire Fighting Museum currently houses the most extensive collection of artifacts relating to the City of Haverhill Fire Department including memorabilia, antique trucks, antique firefighting equipment, helmets, badges, uniforms photo's and more! Duston-Dustin Garrison House, built in 1697, is one of few brick homes remaining from that time and is part of the history of Hannah Duston who along with her newborn, was captured by and later escaped from native american warriors.
