Il segnale Wow! è un forte segnale radio a banda stretta rilevato dall'astronomo Jerry R. Ehman il 15 agosto 1977 mentre lavorava al progetto di ricerca di vita extraterrestre SETI, con il radiotelescopio Big Ear dell'Università statale dell'Ohio. The signal Wow! is a strong narrowband radio signal detected by astronomer Jerry R. Signal characteristics leaving understand an external source to the Earth and the Solar System. Lasted 72 seconds, the signal was never detected later. Ehman, surprised by the intensity of the signal, circled in red on the print-outs of computer and recorded alongside the comment "Wow!", An expression which later became known signal.
