Geocache Description:

After the February 28th Incident, Deer Cave Event is the most important event affect the development of Xizhi, not only have a significant impact on the political Xizhi, more spread Xizhi development of many industries.

Deer Cave village is in Shihting Dist., New Taipei City. There are about 200 family. Then little hill farmland, mainly to the cultivation of tea or sweet potatoes, most villagers are miners. Deer Cave event, the KMT government to send troops to mop up and renamed "Guangming Village". Imprisoned tortured villagers' Deer Cave Dish Temple" then renamed "Guangming Temple". December 29, 2000, the municipal government to build a "Deer Cave Event Memorial Park " at the bottom of the Guangming temple, and there stands a monument.
