Hier ist kein Raumschiff gelandet !. Es handelt sich nicht um ein ESA Übungsgelände oder etwa um Requisiten aus Filmstudios aus den 70er Jahren. Bei der Kugel handelt es sich um die alte Schideck-Doppelsessellift Talstation. Die Liftanlage wurde 1972 zu den Plänen von Architekt Gerhard Garstenauer erbaut und 1993 durch die bestehende Goldbergbahn ersetzt. Es gibt noch 2 Schwesterkugeln: in 2150m Höhe, die ehemalige Bergstation des Doppelsesseliftes und in 2700m Höhe knapp unter dem Gipfel des Kreuzkogels als Aussichtswarte neben der Bergstation des alten Kreuzkogel Schleppliftes. Die Doppelsesselliftanlage bildete mit ihrem futuristischem Design in den 70er Jahren einen Kontrast zur Umgebung. Selbst die Gondeln der Doppelsesselbahn hatten Ähnlichkeiten mit Raumkapsel.
Leider verfällt die Kugel zusehends.

- Bitte respektiere das Bauwerk und behandle es mit entsprechender Sorgfalt.
- Spoilereinträge werden ohne Kommentar gelöscht und verderben den Spass
- Fotologs werden nur akzeptiert wenn die Dose auf dem Bild zu sehen ist (und nicht die Kugel).
- Die Dose befindet sich in einem speziellen Gehäuse. Genau dort sollst du sie auch wieder plazieren, damit dein Nachfolger auch noch seine Freude mit der Dose hat.

No spaceship has landed here ! This is not an ESA training area nor is this a prop from a filmstudio from the 70s. The metal ball is the former ground station of the "schideck" chair lift. It was built in 1972 following the design of architect Gerhard Garstenauer and replaced in 1993 by todays Goldbergbahn. The are 2 more similar balls, one at 2150m the former top station of the chair lift and one at 2700m right below the summit of Kreuzkogel serving as a observation point next to the former top station of the Kreuzkogel T-bar lift. The chair lift with its futuristic looking cabines was meant as a contrast against the surrounding nature.

- There is no need to enter the ball.
- Nothing needs to be dismantled or disassembled.
- Pls study the muggel bus time table to avoid encounters while searching
- Pls respect the ball being an artifact and treat it with respect.
- Spoilering is not desired and will result in unnoticed removal or deletion of the log.
- Photologs can only be accepted if the picture shows the actual container (and not the ball).
- The container is located in a special compartment. Pls place it exactly there again so your fellow cacher can also enjoy the search.
