There's one thing a con man (Doc Holiday) usually doesn't have - stability. But that's going to have to change for one thirty-something, lovable, if a little unscrupulous, small-time criminal / pool hustler if he wants to inherit his uncle's $20 million and pay off his debt to the mob. And not only that, he's going to have to get a real job, a real home, and a real family to prove that he's entitled to the cash and then convince the estate’s straight-laced executor, Harriet Pendergast. It’s a far cry from the con man that goes door to door dressed in a booster club jacket asking folks to contribute money for a little league team that doesn’t exist. His next step is to find a fake family. Just around the corner, Doc finds a brother and sister that have run away from a foster home knowing that they were about to be split up. Doc invites them to stay and play the “pretend family” game. In trade, they ask for monetary compensation. Doc hires Elizabeth (Alexa Fischer) as a nanny for the children while he goes to his new “fake” job at a novelty item sales company. Elizabeth uncovers the truth but decides to stay on as their fake mother. Can he pull off the biggest con of his life while skirting the watchful eye of Children’s Services? Or will he discover something more meaningful than just conning others such as settling down with a family of his own?
