Geocache Description:

The Two Towers geocache will lead you on a quest, much like that taken by the Hobbits, in Lord of the Rings Two Towers!

Be the first to find this Lord of the Rings-themed geocache and claim The One True Ring as your prize! Or grab one of the other many Lord of the Ring-themed treasures or other more typical geocache items.

The Two Towers geocache will lead you on a quest, much like that taken by the Hobbits, the Wizard, the Ranger, the Elf, the Troll and the Human in Lord of the Rings Two Towers!

Be the first to find this Lord of the Rings-themed geocache and claim The One True Ring as your prize!  Or perhaps an Elfin-necklace and broach from the Forest Elf Queen herself may be waiting for you here.  Or grab one of the other many Lord of the Ring-themed treasures or other more typical geocache items. The magic that placed the cache and populated it with treasures willi, from time to time, reload the treasures and/or add new Lord of the Rings-themed items.

Look for this cache at the base of The Two Towers!!!

You will find that getting to this cache is quite a bit more challenging than getting to most geocaches.  No hopping out of the car and walking 10 feet to a bush by the side of the road on this one buckaroos!

For The Two Towers cache only brave, adventorous souls who are not afraid of hard work, rough terrain and perhaps a scuffed knee or elbow should attempt this find.  You will be required to journey far, hiking for, potentially (depending on the route you take) miles to even get to the land it can be found in. Once there you will be forced to fight your way through the Endless Forest, looking about at all times for wild creatures that would do you harm.

Seriously!  Black bears have been spotted (filmed and photographed) in and around Govenor Dodge State Park in the summer of 2016 so please be alert to the possibility of black bear encounters on your way to this cache. Make a lot of noise as you journey so that you and a bear do not surprise each other!  You will be in the back-country of the park, far from immediate help or assistance to get to this cache, so take prudent precautions if you go. This is not a joke.  There really are black bears in the park now!!! Take this part seriously!!!.

After fighting your way through the Endless Forest you will find yourself at the  base of the Two Towers. Do you journey to the left around the Two Towers?  Or do you go to the right?  Perhaps it would be better to go straight towards them and climb the scrub brush and rocks to reach them?

Beware, adventurers, for the footing is loose gravel, and there are steep dropoffs to the forest floor below the higher you ascend the Two Towers. The rough terrain may also harbor rattlesnakes or other reptiles and large carnivourous birds have been seen perched on the towers.

Be alert!  Make sure of your footing and always have your next handhold and foothold in mind before moving to the next spot. Try to hang on to something with at least one hand at all times. Parts of the quest can be very dangerous if you are not alert and/or you are screwing around instead of paying attention to what you are doing.

If the rocks are wet from rain, consider coming back another day. This geocache isn't going anywhere and it's not worth hurting yourself to get to it.  Wet rocks can be slippery and you can fall very far in some places here that could lead to bodily harm or death.

IF THE ROCKS ARE ICY OR COVERED WITH SNOW DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS GEOCACHE!!!  Depending where you are at the Two Towers you could potentially fall dozens, to a hundred+ feet or more into the trees and rocks below. Don't risk it if you are at all unsure about your ability to move around and through this area safely.

Children under the age of 16 should not attempt to access this cache. Children can accompany an adult to the base of the Two Towers where it meets the Endless Forest, but should not go past that point. It's just really potentially dangerous due to the cliffs, the rocks, the steep drop-offs and the unsure footing. It's simply not safe for young children to go anywhere past the edge of the Endless Forest at the base of the towers!

As always, geocache hunter(s) searching or accessing this and other geocaches are liable for all risks and resulting injuries (if any) or worse! (please be careful here!).

YOU DO NOT NEED TO CLIMB UPON THE TOWERS THEMSELVES TO REACH THE CACHE! Please avoid climbing to the top of the two towers formation(s).

Please note: If Campground-H is occupied you must find another way to the Two Towers cache. It is against park policy to disturb or trespass on campers!

That being said, you do NOT! Want to attempt to find the geocache by going through the Campground-H area anyway. Starting from Campground-H is way too dangerous and could lead to seriously bodily harm or possible death due to loose rocks, falling rocks, unsure footing or a myriad of other unspecified dangers. Just don't do it!!! Find another way!!!

Good luck my geocaching adventurer!

Have fun but more than that, be safe!
