This is the third of many caches we hope to place along Fort Road between St. Peter and Fort Ridgely. Outside of St. Peter, Fort Road is Nicollet County Highway 5. Within city limits, it is mostly Grace Street. Until moving to our current home on Fort Road, all we knew about the road was a sign outside of a local office in St. Peter that no longer exists. We have since driven the 49 miles many times, and will for many more years. It would be an ideal place for a bike trail, but it hasn't yet been developed.
When J and I first started at Gustavus in 1989, there were few ways to find other people. While the World Wide Web had technically been invented, it wasn’t available to new users until the latter half of 1991 and was nothing like it is today. When searching for people, we hoped we knew their last name, or it was a sometimes successful, occasionally fruitless, search. We also hoped they lived on campus. By our senior year, thankfully, we could find the people we needed. Good luck!
