Škrlatica, historically also known as Škrdlatica, is a mountain in the Slovenian Julian Alps. With its summit at 2,740m above sea level, it is the second highest peak in Slovenia
Also as you can see on wikipedia first recorded ascent was made on 24 August 1880 by Julius Kugy.
But long time ago there was a Forefather Škrdla who came here with his brothers Forefather Čech, Forefather Lech and Forefather Slovenian. Only he was able to reach the summit and saw the land around. Then he told: "Tato hora budiž navždy zaslíbena mému rodu" and therefore every Škrdla (and also Škrla which is easier to pronounce and is used by lazier part of population) must perform trip on the summit at least once in a lifetime.
History of conquering the summit
about 600 AD Forefather Škrdla
1324 AD duke Josef Škrdla ze Škrdlovic
1615 AD sir Rafael Škrdla ze Škrdlovic (executed June 21, 1621 at Old Town Square in Prague as 28th leader of the Bohemian Revolt)
summer 1805 AD general Miroslaw Škrdla as commander of 6th regiment Napoleon's army during path to Austerlitz
16.6. 1978 Miroslav Škrdla (my grandfather)
8.7. 2016 Michal Škrdla (me as owner of this cache)
My trip (7km, 1700m elevation, 5 hours):
7:30 - 10:00 Aljažev dom -> Bivak IV
10:30 - 12:00 Bivak IV -> turnoff
12:30 - 13:30 turnoff -> summit
way back
14:00 - 15:00 summit -> turnoff
15:30 - 18:30 turnoff -> Bivak IV -> Aljažev dom
Thanks to EvelinaO who accompanied me almost to the peak, but as usual I had to do it alone, because "everyone knows she could never do it" :-P
