Once arrived on magnificent Dunk, you will need to walk along the beach to the Eastern end of Brammo Beach and follow the signs at the end directing you on the walk to Muggy Muggy Beach. The cache is hidden above the high tide mark, behind the palm fringed beach in the rocks.
Dunk Island is 'heaven on earth' a tropical paradise where the rainforest meets the reef. Edmund Banfield (4 September 1852 – 2 June 1923) was an author and naturalist who lived on Dunk Island, he is best known for his book Confessions of a Beachcomber. Banfield's grave (hence the name of the cache) is located not far from Muggy Muggy beach. Since cyclone Yasi made extensive damage to Dunk island in Feb 2011 it has not been possible to enter the resort area in which the grave is located. Muggy Muggy beach is part of QPW National Parks and visitors should respect this pristine location taking care of the environment and not introducing any biosecurity risks.
