This is a lock box and in addition to the usual log book and pencil it contains a travel bug with a mission and swaps. It is tricky to find if you aren't an experienced cacher, so 'hae a guid rake' as they say in these parts!
. The garden wall is thought to be the old kaleyard, where the household/s would have grown their tatties and veg. Look up to the old horse mill on your right and the original improvement cottage with its Hingin' Lum which replaced the old central hearths which vented through the thatched cottage ceilings in the older style houses.
