The old bridge was to be replaced due to its age and deterioration. An over weight truck went through the decking and buckled the framework. That moved the need for replacement up the list. This being a fairly low use road prioritized it low on the list. Appropriations finally came through and the old structure was removed. Work on the new bridge started but stopped. After some inquiry as to why it was discovered that there was an engineering snafu that put the project in limbo. Well it was finally resolved and the new one is now complete. It is of a similar design as the last based on the historic nature of the site. There is a new historical marker showing the changes.
The cache location is township right of way and there is room for parking of one maybe two cars.
Past the newly installed guardrails are private property and is well posted.
