Geocache Description:

Welcome to Simon Hill, Norwell Conservation Area!  The cache is a little about a 0.25 mile walk from the parking area on a very nice trail.  Parking can be located at the end of Simon Hill Road ( N 42 9.769  W 70 49. 965 )

Simon Hill is known as the "Shoemaker Trail"  this was the path taken by early shoemakers to Assinippi to catch a trolley to Rockland where they worked in a shoe factory as there was no longer a shoe maker's shop on Norwell Avenue.  At night when the shoemakers returned all one could see were lighted lanterns coming and going over Simon Hill.  This is why it is called the "Shoemaker Trail. HUNTING: I am not sure when or if hunting is allowed here, but its always a good idea to wear BLAZE ORANGE during the hunting season (Oct. 16 - Dec. 30)
