Manitou Water Tower Traditional Cache

Should be a quick PNG. Head up the switchbacks of Manitou Mountain and don't be intimidated when the road turns to gravel. The road can be surprisingly busy sometimes, so make sure to pull off nicely to the side if you've driven up. You are looking for a friendly pill container. Watch out for poison ivy!

Welcome to the most beautiful water tower in Ozark. Built in 2013, it's color was perfectly chosen by whomever was assigned that job. You are atop Manitou Mountain, a location with an interesting history. A lodge, deemed the Deane Summer House was built in 1904 on Manitou Mountain. In the 1950s the location became a Bible College and more structures were built. In the late '80s the campus was turned into a mental facility, and remained so until 2005 when the property was purchased by the grand-daughter of the original Bible college president. Unfortunately, during the decades as a mental facility, the original lodge burned down. Today the campus is a missionary training facility.
