Geocache Description:

The Burren is one of the most fantastic and unusual places in Ireland. This particular spot is probably my favourite of all. Both Mullaghmore and the surrounding hills are like no other. Akin to an alien planet, the unique landscape is like piles of whipped meringue looking out across endless fields of karst limestone!

Climb to the top of Mullaghmore and you will find the cache on the west side of the base of the cairn.

Deep in the heart of the Burren lies the mountain of Mullaghmore, one of the most sublimely beautiful landscapes in Ireland. Embodying the very best of the Burren, with its breathtaking views, intriguing geological features, rich flora and evocative monuments, it is a place that never fails to impress.

This walk follows the blue marked trail on and around the mountain with the addition of an adventurous alternative. Though leading through some rough terrain you may expect unusual rock formations and fossils which you don't find anywhere else in the Burren. Use extreme caution on the whole track and watch your step. Finish the experience with a tea & scones in Father Ted's House, nearby.
