The cache is one in a series of citizen scientist & change observation geocaches placed by the Anchorage Museum. The idea is to attract seasoned, new, or wannabe geocachers to the idea of going to specific locations (around Anchorage and Alaska) and making and recording their observation of a specific view and changes they see. The goal is to capture images over time, i.e., hours, days, weeks, months, and years that will help us all see changes in weather, phenology (the vegetation along the creek changing color), snowfall and melt, and ice formation and melting on the creek. The view from this geocache is of Campbell Creek. Note that the bridge and trail are limited to dog-sleds when there is enough snow, so be careful in the winter.

Besides signing the log we're asking you to take and post a photo of the view in portrait format. Place the short edge of your smartphone or camera against the white splotch glue, pointing your camera in the direction of the arrow on the splotch.

This alignment will help us link the images over time. The photos will be used to share information with museum visitors and others, and you will help us by supplying the photos! Don't assume that there have been no changes since the previously posted photo. We are also interested in those subtle changes. When you log your find, please tell us about the weather and time/date the photo was taken. You can take a look at an example "time-lapse" here. This time-lapse covers the period 20 July 2015 - 21 April 2020.
Have fun, and take the time to observe and share a view of your surroundings!
If you have an idea for an addition to this series, drop us a line.
Congrats to Tundra Tim for First To Find.
