Evans Lookout was named after Bill Evans who worked for the Colac Otway Shire for 37 years. from here you can take in the amazing views of Apollo Bay its harbour and beyond. The lookout also shares its location with one half of 2 sets of navigation becons to ensure safe passage in and around the entrance to the harbour by lining up it with another becon down lower, When heading from Cape Otway direction this becon and the lower one ensure a safe path past the reefs before lining up the other set to enter the harbour.
