Tierkloof has been erected as a London church mission during the beginning (1904) of the previous century. It functioned for a long time but has later been closed until a international company in collaboration with the South African government decided to reopen it as a semi private funded school. It is a settlement with all the buildings built with stone from the ravine behind the school. It was originally started as a stone church by the London mission
