Wasp....... Shell???? WTH? Right?
WELL!... I will tell you that this cache is NOT in the first spot I chose for it.... I will give you 3 guesses why!
Long story short:
I disturbed a nest while placing it and well... WE RAN!!!!
Long story:
I was placing the cache and waiting for my GPS to take and average way-point and I realized that I forgot to put a logbook in to the cache so I was on my way back to my bag to get one (because I left it on the trail) and I grabbed a branch to keep me steady on the log and that's when I seen it... a softball sized wasp nest!! I didn't see how many wasps came out, but my counterparts said there was enough to make them back up. after a failed attempt to get rid of it, I seen about 10 fly out of it. yep I got out of there fast...
We could have kept going on our walk, but guess what! I just so happen to have left my GPS at the cache!!! someone had to get back up there to get it. I drew the short straw! after all it was my mess to begin with.
So I planed out my route back carefully and prayed that I didn't slip and fall right into the nest. like a gazelle I leaped over logs under the brush and snatched my GPS and got out of there!
I came back after our walk and very carefully avoiding the nest I moved it!!
