Geocache Description:

This cache is dedicated to my dog Oscar, who we had to put down this past April. Oscar was in the last litter of English Mastiffs my mother bred. One week after Oscar was born his mother and litter mates all died suddenly of an illness. He was small, underweight and not expected to live very long. We all nursed him back to health. Oscar came to live with me when he was 7 months old. Within 6 months he decided we do not like strangers and became a guard dog. Oscar had select few friends he liked and would let come over. He had a great judge of character. In October of 2015 he had his first seizure. We took him to the vet and found he had kidney failure. The vet said it was too late do anything for it and it was something he has born with. He was expected to live another 6 months. Mid April of 2016 he had his worst seizure and was unable to walk after. We then took him to his next adventure. A little about Oscar.....He loved cheese burgers and could swallow them in one bite. He had one toy he loved , which they had an unhealthy relationship. Oscar would jump up to see you when you got home and put his front paws on your shoulders to give you a hug. Oscar hated larger trucks and bridges they were Evil! Lastly one story, probably his best story. Hempmage had stopped by my house to let him out on his way home, he also had an intoxicated friend in the car. He told his friend to wait in the car and that the dog wasn't exactly friendly toward strangers. His friend didn't listen and went in to my house to raid my beer and Oscar charged through the house and jumped on his back to prevent the theft of my favorite beer.....so yeah best dog ever! Okay a little about the cache. The cache is in Stephens park in Moline, IL. Oscar really liked walking here close to the end of the time with is. This is a regular size container and will be about eye level and well camoed. There is some nice swag for the ftf, Oscar would love this.
