As I was hiding these caches at this park, I was on a beach that was a bit out of the way. I was hiding NPSP - Dead Trolley Line on one end of the beach and had to walk to the other end to take the easy way out and get to the next cache. I was surprised to see a woman sunbathing topless. Well, that was the way I was going. I'm quite sure that she knew that I was there but she just went on doing her thing. As I got closer, she just smiled and said hi. I guess I must have looked surprised because she said, "Oh, don't you know, this is where people come to sunbathe in the buff." She went on to tell me that there are a few more beaches further out where people come to sunbathe au naturel. I thanked her for the explanation and walked along, all of the time thinking about what I might run into as I went out to the further beaches. I didn't see anyone else on my way out to this spot but saw a few secluded beach areas where I saw evidence of people having been there. When I got all the way out to where GZ is for this, it was really secluded. I wanted to take time to get some good coordinates so I sat for a while, thinking about what the woman had said. I checked the GPSr but it was only about 25%. My clothes were wet from wading out to this area and my shirt was soaked with sweat so I thought I'd let them dry out. When in Rome . . .
So, I named this cache and the area CO beach. That's for "Clothing Optional". Feel free to post any pics of you at GZ. I've started the collection of pictures while here at GZ. Check out the image gallery.
To get here, follow the Black Marsh trail (white) east and get on the Power House trail, as you pass the power house (duh). Follow that for a bit until you see a small spur trail (it's marked as the "Spur Trail") on your right that will take you to the beach. At this point, you can grab NPSP - Another Dead Tree. Then, just keep walking along the beach for what will feel like forever. The beach is easy to follow for the first few hundred feet. After that, you either have to wade or bushwhack through the marsh grass. It's 0.33 miles from the last cache to this one. I would not take kids with me for this one. Partly because of the nasty walk. Partly because you never know who you'll run into.
