The outer container is not water tight but there is another one inside for the log. It would be easy enough to empty it if there is water in it - if you would be so kind.
Quite possibly you will encounter ticks, mosquitos, poison ivy and whatever else happens in Minnesota summers when you go into grass and woods. I hope you can still have fun.
