This event is to celebrate the International Geocaching Day doing what many of us love the most; being outdoors! To commemorate this day, we are hosting this event at the "Parque Nacional Laguna del Condado". Here you can choose either to rent a kayak or paddle board, ride your bike alongside the lagoon, complete the geocache power trail series around the lagoon, stroll around or just sit and relax below a nice tree shade watching the magnificent view.
If you choose to do some kayaking/paddle board, you can bring your own or rent one. The cost for two hours rent is: $20 for a single kayak/SUP and $30 for a double or triple kayak. If you don't want to rent, that is fine as there are plenty of things to do. Kayaking or Paddle Boarding at the lagoon provides a wonderful experience for everyone to enjoy in a very relaxing environment where you can even see up close some of the marine life living in the lagoon like the manatees, see turtles or even some dolphins. They are around and tend to get very close near you enriching the experience.
As part of the activities, there will be a kayak/SUP race for a FTF exclusively created for the event and will not be available after. The prize for the FTF will be a Geocoin commemorative of the International Geocaching Day. The coin will be awarded to the team that first finds this special geocache (only one coin for the team). But don't be fooled, this will not be your normal FTF hunt, you may find it first but you still need to get back to the finish line. Rules to be explain at the event.
The event will start at 2:00 pm at the posted cordinates and will last until 6:00 pm. The race will start at 3:00 pm. There will be other surprises too. Also, we are welcoming any deadly ducks that waddle up to the event as part of the HQ Duck Dash! So if you are participating in the HQ Duck Dash race and have one of those deadly ducks, bring it to the event! We will be waiting!!!
