Mother Nature can be cruel. When most trees are growing they have thoughts and visions of being called "majestic", "imposing" or "magnificent". I believe all trees strive for this. Sometimes, through a quirky twist of fate, things just don't work out as the tree had planned. This pine is just such an example. Through no fault of its own it is now known, to other trees in the Catherine Creek area, as Mylie the Twerking Tree. If you are coming from up the hill you can see how it got its name.
To get to the cache site park at the Catherine Creek Trailhead. The short way is to head east along the road until the trail starts just on the east side of Catherine Creek. Climb up through the rocks and follow the trail up the hill. The long way is to head up through the gate and head to the right on Trail 20. Follow that trail up past the hole in the bluff and omn up around to the top of the bluff and then down to the cache site. At last count I think there are four other caches on that loop.
The cache is a cammoed PVC pipe with smaller goodies in it and a smaller unactivated geocoin for FTF. The plastic sleeve for the geocoin is in the container with a rubber band around it. There seems to be a bunch of small red ants that also like this tree so be on the lookout for them crawling up your hands.
