This pullout along the highway will give you an expansive view of the west arm of Willapa Bay as well as tiny Round Island, all part of the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge. The Willapa Refuge was established in 1937 by president Franklin D. Roosevelt to protect a unique area that is home to countless species of waterfowl, fish and amphibians, and large mammals, including herds of Roosevelt Elk which can be seen swimming across the bay if you're lucky!
