Geocache Description:

Well almost sitting on top of The World.

"In 1877, Charters Towers is gazetted and surveyed as the second municipality in Queensland – by this time with all of the untapped riches of the earth, it is known as “The World”. One square mile' is set aside for this new town and soon building such as banks, stores and hotels line the main thoroughfares of Gill, Mosman and Bow Streets. There are 21 hotels in Mosman Street but the main street of Gill Street extending through to Millchester Road is lined with over 100 hotels, inns and wayside shanties to quench the thirst of miners." State Library of Queensland blog 'Charters Towers - The World'.

Park at the lookout or the parking spot listed, cross the road with caution and follow an informal trail towards a couple of rocky outcrops.  A few metres off the small trail and towards town is a smaller rocky outcrop with a few short trees. The cache is a plastic screw top.

At the time of placing it contained; log, pencil, toy, bug book, unactivated trackable (Greek for the Olympics - FTF), dark glow dinosaur.

Sit on top of the world and sign the log. An intrepid Phoenix Ferals were FTF, it may be hot now but it was cold, wet and miserable back then.
