Geocache Description:

It's International Geocaching Day! Saturday 20th August 2016. A perfect day to get outside, find a few (dozen) geocaches and spend time with fellow cachers. The event co-ordinates are for the nearest shelter along the promenade. Other shelter is available, should we need it. Bring fish'n'chips or your own picnic. If the tide is out then we might sit on the beach!

Celebrate International Geocaching Day with fellow cachers! Bring along your supper and beach mat!

A few years ago we decided to visit an island just off the coast from Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. Our friends put on a super event during the evening before the trip and it was great to meet up with so many cachers and share supper and stories of adventures near and far. Our day on Steep Holm went very well and we forged life long friendships with those who accompanied us.

Geocaching is truly an International activity. We've found caches in far flung places, down mines, up mountains, beside Churches and at Railway Stations. We've made friends with cachers from The Netherlands to the USA. Where will your next geocaching adventure take you? Who will share your story?

Come and celebrate International Geocaching Day! Look out for our Geocaching Flag. Join us on the Promenade, or the beach if the tide is out, from 4.00pm-6.00pm There will be an opportunity, weather permitting for some Beach games and a hat folding competition.
