Welcome to Lock 42 of the Historic Trent Severn Waterway!
Lock 42 is One of the final locks in the series stretching from the Bay of Quinte at Trenton, to Georgian Bay. It stretches 386km, and has 36 conventional locks, 2 flight locks, 2 hydronic lift locks, and a marine railway. The system took almost a century to construct, opening in 1920, and includes man made canals, approximately 150 dams, and many areas that were dredged or flooded to create the fully navigable waterway. Along the route there are many locations to stop for food, drink, shopping, and even lodging, including overnight tie-ups and camping.
We have included the waypoint for the parking area, or this location can also be reach by boat, if you're passing through. However, the cache itself is not located on park property. Enjoy this fabulous location. You will need to bring your own pen.
