I have been geocaching for nearly 14 years, and since moving to Eau Claire about three and a half years ago, I have been interested in placing a cache near the beacon across from our home. Unfortunately in 2012, we were very busy trying to sell our old home, then packing and moving, in 2013, after getting settled into the home, I unfortunately developed some very significant back problems that resulted in 2 surgeries. This year I am finally physically doing much better, and have been working on being more active and getting out and doing more geocaching.
I had the opportunity to teach a class on maps, 'GPSr use and Geocaching this summer to 15 third, fourth, and fifth graders. Fortunately there are a large number of caches in the area, but so many are micros and not beginner cacher friendly. During the class we put together several cache containers, and this is one of them. It is a locking sandwich container that contains a log, several small kid friendly swag items, and a TB. When you are looking for the cache and if you see the 'Giant' across the street in the yard, feel free to stop by and say ''hi".
