Enjoy the view of Ice Lake, aka Crystal Lake, from the park bench while you ponder what this spot may have looked like before Grand Rapids was invented. Before mobile phone apps and GPS’s were ever thought of. A time when we navigated by the sun and the stars. When we looked one another in the eye and had conversation. That was when this 41-acre lake had water pure enough to use for Grand Rapid’s ice supply. Hence the names for this sweet body of water.
