Dick Jepsen bought Wallaceville House in the 1940s. He built the stables to house his racehorses. Jockeys and stable hands lived on the first floor above. The building, called the Stables is now part of the Christian Fellowship of Upper Hutt's Lane Park complex. in recent times the stables and its surrondings was the Upper Valley Middle Shchool, the school had its opening in January 2012 and quite quickly closed down in 2013, reason for closing was from the start of the year the school started with 12 students between the school years of 7-10 and by the end of the year there were only 3 students left so they were taught at one of there teachers homes for the last few months.
